This is a translation. If the versions differ, the Dutch version applies.
Ask & Roll is a game with conversation questions. You can play without an account, and what you enter in the app stays on your own device. Below you can read which data we do process, why, and what your rights are.
1. Who we are
Ask & Roll is a product of Wilbert Kramer | Marketing + AI, based in Kampen, the Netherlands (Chamber of Commerce no. 73946192). We are responsible for the processing of personal data through asknroll.app. Questions about privacy? Email hallo@asknroll.app.
2. What stays on your own device
The names of the people at the table, your chosen themes, ages, language and display, and your saved questions are stored in the browser on your own device. We never receive them. You can remove them by clearing the site data for asknroll.app in your browser.
3. Which data we process
Visiting the website
Ask & Roll runs on Cloudflare. On every visit Cloudflare processes technical data, such as your IP address, browser type and the requested page, to deliver the site and protect it against abuse. We do this on the basis of our legitimate interest in a safe, working website. Cloudflare keeps this data briefly, under Cloudflare's own policy.
Statistics with Google Analytics
Only if you say yes, we use Google Analytics 4 to see how Ask & Roll is used. For example which pages are visited, on what kind of device and from which country, and how often people roll the die or share. We never send names, email addresses or the content of conversations.
- Legal basis: your consent. You can withdraw it at any time through Cookie settings, at the bottom of the website and in the app.
- Google signals and advertising features are switched off. We don't use the data for advertising.
- We keep the data in Google Analytics for at most 14 months. The cookies expire after at most 13 months.
- Google may process data in the United States. Google participates in the EU-US Data Privacy Framework.
Signing up for question packs, and your account
If you sign up for the question packs, we store your email address, your language, where you signed up (website or app) and when you gave consent. We email you when the question packs are ready. Legal basis: your consent. You can unsubscribe at any time, through the link in the email or by emailing us.
If you sign in with your email address, we send you a six-digit code. We only store an encrypted version of that code, for at most 15 minutes. After you sign in we set a session cookie (ar_session) so you stay signed in. It is valid for 180 days. If you buy a question pack later, we link it to your account. Legal basis: performance of our agreement with you.
We keep your account until you delete it. You can do that in the app or by emailing us. The data is stored in a Cloudflare database in Western Europe. Emails with sign-in codes are sent through Cloudflare.
If you email us
If you email us, we use your email address and what you write to reply to you. We keep the email for as long as your question needs it.
4. Children
Ask & Roll is meant to be played together, with a parent or carer at the table. We don't ask children for any data. Signing up, signing in and consenting to statistics are for adults. Are you under 16? Ask your parent or carer.
5. Cookies and storage in your browser
| Name | What for | How long |
|---|---|---|
| asknroll.settings.v1 browser storage | Your settings, names and saved questions | Until you clear it |
| asknroll.consent.v1 browser storage | Your choice about statistics | Until you clear it |
| ar_session cookie | Staying signed in, only if you sign in | 180 days |
| _ga and _ga_* Google Analytics cookies | Statistics, only with your consent | At most 13 months |
The app also keeps its own files in your browser so it works without wifi. They contain no personal data.
6. Sharing
When you tap Share, the share menu of your own phone or computer opens. We can't see who you share with. If you said yes to statistics, we only count that something was shared.
7. Who we share data with
We never sell your data. We only work with these processors: Cloudflare for hosting, database and email, and Google for statistics, only with your consent. When paid question packs arrive, we will name the payment provider here.
8. Your rights
You may see, correct or delete your data. You can object, restrict the processing and ask for your data so you can take it elsewhere. You can withdraw consent at any time. Email us at hallo@asknroll.app and we will respond within a month. If you're unhappy with how we handle your data, you can complain to the Dutch Data Protection Authority (Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens) or to the authority in your own country.
9. Security
The site only works over a secure connection. We don't use passwords, we store codes and sessions encrypted, and only we have access to the database.
10. Changes
If we change this policy, the date at the top changes. For important changes we let you know on the website.
